Headteacher's Welcome
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Maple Primary School. We believe that Maple Primary is a fantastic place where children are able to flourish and achieve to their potential within a kind, caring and supportive setting. We promote an inclusive environment where we recognise and value equality and diversity. At Maple, you will find committed, enthusiastic and hardworking staff who provide a broad and balanced curriculum, focusing equally on academic achievement and mental and physical wellbeing. We want our pupils to feel safe, secure and happy, to have wonderful, meaningful experiences and to achieve to the best of their ability. We enjoy watching individual personalities blossom as they develop self-confidence, self-esteem and the ability to become part of a team.
Undoubtedly, at Maple, we are proud of our academic achievements, but Maple Primary is much more than just preparing children for statutory testing. We value learning beyond the classroom and are committed to building on the children’s cultural capital through supporting external visits, class trips and, of course, the highly anticipated residential journeys in Years 5 and 6.
Maple has a strong music tradition, offering music lessons including guitar, violin, cello and recorders as well as encouraging singing in a choir and musical ensembles.
We are able to offer a wealth of extra-curricular activities including a choice of traditional sports, cheerleading, street dancing, fencing, gymnastics, karate, chess and construction club to name just some of the activities that we host.
A positive relationship with parents is key to supporting a child to reach his or her potential. We are fortunate to have a very active Parent Teacher Association promoting a real sense of community as well as encouraging fund raising to provide additional resources for the children. An example of this is our wonderful playground trail and climbing apparatus. I hope that you enjoy visiting the website to get a flavour of Maple Primary School. All the staff at Maple are very much looking forward to working with the whole school community to continue to build an exciting future for the children.
