School Council
School Council meets every two weeks to discuss ways in which to improve the school. In the meetings, issues and ideas are discussed that need to be addressed at a whole school level. The elected pupils represent the views of their own class at the School Council meeting and then report back to their peers. Pupils really enjoy being part of the School Council as it gives them an opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills and help make improvements to the school.
What are the aims of the school council?
- To make sure that the school is a safe and happy place for children.
- To make sure that children have a place to voice their concerns.
- To encourage all children in the school to suggest improvements.
- To make sure any suggestions or concerns are listened to, and acted upon where appropriate.
School Council has various responsibilities in school. They organise a yearly talent show which involve acts from each year group. Each term, they decide on a different project and work with teachers and the rest of the school. The School Council discusses ideas and helps put together action plans for activities or school improvements.
