‘Every child has a voice’

School Council

We meet every two weeks to discuss ways in which to improve our school. In our meetings, we discuss issues and ideas that need to be addressed at a whole school level.  The elected pupils represent the views of their own class at the School Council meeting and then report back to their peers.

What are the aims of the school council?

  • To make sure that our school is a safe and happy place for children.
  • To make sure that children have a place to voice their concerns.
  • To encourage all children in the school to suggest improvements.
  • To make sure any suggestions or concerns are listened to, and acted upon where appropriate.

We have various responsibilities in school. We organise events to help bring the whole school together and to raise money for charity.  Each year we plan 2 talent shows which involve acts from each year group. We also work with the staff, PTA and Governors in discussing our ideas and putting together action plans for activities or school improvements.
